The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Semiconductors has announced its Annual Parliamentary Reception, taking place in February at the House of Commons, bringing together parliamentarians, industry leaders, and academic experts to focus on one of the UKâs most strategically important sectors.
Â
Chaired by Ruth Jones MP, the APPG for Semiconductors was established to champion the UKâs semiconductor industry and advocate for stronger domestic capability within global supply chains. The Group plays a key role in engaging Government on policy relating to semiconductor design, manufacturing, skills, and investment, while highlighting the sectorâs contribution to economic growth and national resilience.
Â
This yearâs reception will be held under the theme âUnlocking UK Semiconductor Growth: A Paper on Evidence, Barriers, and Industry Mobilisation.â The evening will be dedicated to exploring the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the UK semiconductor sector, providing a forum for evidence-led discussion and practical policy engagement.
The event will feature a keynote address from Kanishka Narayan MP, who will outline the Governmentâs priorities for semiconductor innovation, manufacturing capability, and the development of a highly skilled workforce.
